Custom application development

Software shaped around how your business already works

CRM, booking, inventory, dashboards and portals — built with React, Node.js, Python, PHP and MySQL, so the tool fits the process instead of forcing you to change it.

Why custom

When off-the-shelf stops fitting

Most businesses reach a point where the spreadsheet has become the system, three tools hold overlapping copies of the same data, and someone spends a day a week moving information between them.

That is the point where custom software pays for itself. Not because custom is inherently better — it usually is not — but because the cost of the workarounds has finally overtaken the cost of building the thing properly.

We will tell you when you are not at that point yet, and which existing product would solve it more cheaply.

Engineering standards

What we hold ourselves to

An application you cannot maintain is a liability, however good it looks on day one. These are the standards every build meets.

Separation of concerns

Models, controllers and views stay distinct. No thousand-line file holding the whole system together.

Security by default

Parameterised queries, hashed credentials, CSRF tokens, validated input and least-privilege access.

Documented APIs

REST endpoints with consistent JSON responses and real HTTP status codes, documented as we build.

Role-based access

Permissions modelled around actual job roles, enforced on the server and not just hidden in the UI.

Migrations and backups

Schema changes are scripted and reversible. Data is backed up before every deployment.

Performance under load

Indexed queries, paginated endpoints and caching where it measurably helps.

How we work

A process you can follow from the outside

Six stages, each with a clear output. No black boxes and no stretches where you have no idea what is happening.

01

Discover

We start by understanding the business, the audience and what success actually looks like — before anyone talks about features.

02

Plan

We define scope, technology, design direction and a realistic timeline, so you know what you are getting and when.

03

Build

Development or production runs in visible stages. You see progress as it happens rather than at the end.

04

Test

Functionality, responsiveness, security and performance are checked on real devices, not just a desktop browser.

05

Launch

We handle deployment, DNS, SSL and the go-live checks, then confirm everything works on the live domain.

06

Maintain

Updates, backups, monitoring and improvements — because a launch is the start of a website’s life, not the end.

FAQ

Custom application questions

We start with a requirement mapping session: who uses the system, what each role needs to do, what data it holds and what it must connect to. That produces a written feature list and a phased estimate before any code is written.

If it has an API, yes. We routinely connect accounting tools, payment gateways, messaging platforms, spreadsheets and existing databases. Where no API exists we discuss the realistic alternatives rather than promising a workaround that will break.

That is the point of building custom. You get the source code, a documented database schema and a deployment guide. We are available for future work, but you are not trapped into it.

For anything substantial, yes. We ship a working core first so you can use it and give feedback from real use, then add the rest in planned phases. It costs less than building everything against assumptions.

Prepared statements for every query, hashed passwords, role-based access control, CSRF protection, server-side validation and encrypted connections are standard. For regulated data we discuss the specific requirements up front.
